Know about innovative teachers

Not too long ago, PBS Learning Media announced the latest round of educators selected for the 2014 PBS LearningMedia Digital Innovators program. We’ve talked about it in past years, but if you’re not familiar, the program rewards tech-savvy K-12 educators from across the country who are serving as leaders in the education technology space and incorporating digital media in classrooms to promote student engagement and achievement through year-long hands-on and virtual professional development opportunities.
100 educators were selected for the program, and 16 of these were designated as as “Lead PBS LearningMedia Digital Innovators”. So what makes a leading digital innovator? You can read about all 100 of these awesome teachers here. We’ll give you a quick snapshot of the “Lead” folks below. To read their entire bio and to see the entire list, see the link above.
If you’re interested in applying to become one of these digital innovators, check back to their website for details for the next application period. The This year’s folks receive year-long professional development opportunities that include virtual trainings, access to premium and exclusive resources, and invitations to special events. In addition, the top 16 “Lead Innovators” will serve as leads of the program and will receive an all-expense paid trip to Washington, DC, to participate in a two-day digital education summit where participants will engage in hands-on learning, collaborate with peers and hear from digital technology thought leaders.
